Lake St. Louis Community Association Golf Committee Meeting Minutes Tuesday, June 14, 2011 5:30 p.m. 1. Call to Order 5:30 p.m. 2. Approval of Agenda of June 14, 2011 Agenda was approved 4. Approval of Minutes from May 10, 2011 Don Smedshammer made motion to approve and Joe Hochnadel seconded the motion 5. Course Report – Steve Steve reports that the dollar spot has been treated and Steve and his staff are continuing with their three tier program of maintenance. Steve still needs league member information. Steve will bring to the next meeting the names of the leagues that still have information missing. Mille Fulton mentioned to Steve that people involved with the memorial benches think the benches should be maintained by the CA. Steve will put vinyl sleeves on the benches which will keep them looking nice and easy to maintain. A sand box has been placed on Hole 1. Julie Gomez mentioned to Steve that the Japanese beetles are damaging the roses on the course. Steve will check on the roses. 6. Old Business Tom Mayes reported that the Spring Fling went well. It was well organized and a lot of golfers played in the tournament. Tom says it was great to have such good help and cooperation with the CA staff. All donations were appreciated. The committee discussed plaques for the CA clubs and what the cost would be for the plaques and plates. Don Smedshammer will get some figures for discussion at next month’s meeting. Millie will check with women’s clubs if they are interested in having plaques. Julie Gomez reported on information she had regarding bricks for identifying memorial trees on the course. The cost of bricks and engraving which she presented would be too costly for our purpose. The committee discussed security cameras. Tom will try to get a quote of cost and bring to next month’s meeting. Junior Golf League – Don Smedshammer reports that 52 players have signed up and 47 have played. Don Smedshammer will meet at 4:00 p.m. on this Thursday with Hawk Ridge Golfers to continue planning the Ryder Cup. A special name will be decided for the tournament. It will not be called the Ryder Cup. 7. New Business Tom Mayes will start planning for the Fall Couples Tournament at a later date. Ron Wilson brought a golf bag, clubs and other golf equipment to the meeting asking the committee’s thoughts about selling equipment at the shack. The committee’s decision was not to sell the equipment. 8. Special Announcements: Ron Wilson stated that further Golf Committee meetings will be held in the Veterans Room. 6:15 p.m. Mary Fischer moved to adjourn meeting and Ginger Buckley seconded the motion Next Meeting of the year will be on July 12, 2011 at 5:30 p.m.
