Per Steve, the new Shumard Oak tree that will be planted on Hole #9 around the 1st of September will be approximately 7 feet high with a 3 inch diameter. . Winter Tees – The winter tees on #3 and #4 are going to be nuked completely and redone. (Rest just get reseeding). . Steve has done a good job of resodding the collars around the greens of a couple of holes (#6, 8). He is going to be doing some collar spot sodding on some others. 6. Old Business a) Junior Golf – Don said junior golf is over for the year. The meal and awards presentation went well (60 accepted to attend, 120 showed). Special thanks to Ron and all the CA staff. Looking for someone to run the program next year, as Don is not going to. b) Memorials – Julie checked into bricks/engraving/pricing at a Wentzville monument company, Pohl & King Monuments. Each brick would be about $3. Engraving would be $20 each. Wording and font sizes for the bricks were discussed. A Lithochrome finish (choice of 3 colors) would be applied to protect the bricks. It was decided to have Julie go back to the monument company and see if they could do 3 sample bricks, one for each Lithochrome color, to see how they look. c) Golf Shack – Millie will talk to Jerry Knott to see what is going on with his research. d) Hole-in-One Insurance – Table until spring of next year in order to have time to investigate and research the feasibility of doing it. e) Drop Zone on #5 – Drop zone has been installed across the pond of hole #5 on the right hand side. There was some discussion that the drop area is too slanted and uneven. Steve mentioned that when the pond gets renovated this fall, he will level out and redo the drop area. f) Upcoming Tournaments – Hawk Ridge / LSL 55 & Up Cup, 9/8 & 9/9; Fletcher Cup, 9/16, Rain date 9/23; Pontooners on 9/30; CA Fall Classic 10/13, Rain date 10/20.
